When can I register for APWA's International Public Works Congress & Exposition?

What is the cost for registration for the media?

Cost for registration is complimentary, with pass to the show, exposition, education program sessions, Sunday's Get Acquainted Party and Monday's Awards Ceremony

How do I check in at the show?

Press registration will be available at 7 a.m. on Saturday, August 14 in the Registration area located in the East Registration Lobby, on the east side of the Convention Center, one level below the main entrance level.

Where is the press room located?

The press room is located in room 051 of the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

When can I access the press room?

The press room will be open concurrent with exhibit hours:

Sunday, August 15 Noon – 4 p.m.
Monday, August 16 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Tuesday, August 17 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.


APWA staff will be available to answer questions and provide information, Sunday through Tuesday. You can use the Press Room at any time to access e-mail, pick up an exhibitor press kit, conduct interviews and attend press conferences.

Will Congress speakers and the APWA Board members be available for interviews?

Most speakers and board members will be available for interviews on a limited basis during Congress. To set up an interview, contact Laura Bynum, APWA Communications/Media Relations Manager.

How do I contact Laura Bynum during the show?

APWA Communications/Media Affairs Manager Laura Bynum will will be in the Press Room during the hours it is open on the Exhibit Floor. She can also be reached at 202-701-4554.

Is there a press guide for media at Congress?

Yes, the Congress Press Kit contains the information to give you a head start on covering Congress, including:

  • Up-to-date press releases
  • Exposition floor map
  • Convention Center map
  • Introduction to the APWA Board of Directors and Executive Committee
  • APWA Headliners and Highlights
  • Congress History
  • List of Exhibitors by products/services as well as by company name
  • Press Conference Schedule

The Congress Press Kit will only be available for pickup in the Press Room on the exhibit floor.

How do I speak at the 2010 Congress?

We are no longer accepting proposals for 2010 Congress. However, we are accepting proposals for 2011 Congress. Instructions on how to apply and the proposal submission deadline can be found here.
