Our Host City - Omaha!
Located at the crossroads of the country in the Missouri River Valley, Omaha is the center of America and the heart of the Midwest! It’s easy and convenient – whether you’re flying or driving, getting there is a breeze. Omaha is also a leading Midwest convention destination, and the Snow Conference will be held at the new state-of-the art Qwest Center.
You’ll find lots to see and within walking distance of your hotel – including Omaha’s historic warehouse district, the Old Market, where you’ll be surrounded by old world authenticity and charm as well as great dining and nightlife venues and unique galleries and shops. Omaha also has a rich history of diverse art and culture, and some of the city’s lesser known gems can be found in the Florence District of North Omaha and the ethnically rich South Omaha – both filled with attractions, shops and restaurants.
Be sure to check out the redeveloped riverfront including the new Missouri River Pedestrian Bridge, which follows the Lewis & Clark Trail and is the first pedestrian bridge ever to link two states – and it’s also a 2009 winner of APWA’s prestigious Public Works Project of the Year award.
The APWA Nebraska Chapter looks forward to welcoming you to Omaha!
